A Crystal Mountain wedding

By picking such an awe-inspiring location, the couple set the stage for what their guests could expect for the weekend: a lot of fun.

Imagine a wedding that combines the abundance and beauty of nature with the elegance of a black-tie affair. Erin and Peter achieved that with their late summer Crystal Mountain wedding.

Crystal Mountain Wedding Beauty!

A Crystal Mountain wedding is always a beautiful affair, but it wasn’t just about the wedding; it was also about their friends and family coming together, getting to know each other, and bonding in such a scenic setting. The couple invited their guests to arrive a couple of days early and enjoy the mountain and some preset excursions like mountaintop yoga on the morning of the wedding. These excursions allowed everyone to relax and bond before the big day, and they also helped set the tone for the wedding itself: a celebration.

Select guests got to stay in deluxe yurts adjacent to the Crystal Mountain wedding venue at the top of the mountain. Those who stayed experienced something exceptional, as it fully immerses guests in the beauty of the mountain setting. At the same time, those who stayed at the lodges below had the fantastic opportunity to take the ski lift to the ceremony site on the wedding day. The ceremony occurred on a mountaintop platform with breathtaking views of Mount Rainier and the Cascade Range. It was simple but elegant, with white flowers, greenery, and enclosed lanterns adorning the ceremony aisle. Erin and Peter exchanged vows in front of a breathtaking ground arch with their closest friends and family watching, and the ceremony was full of laughter, love, and tears of joy.

Crystal Mountain wedding reception

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the deck of the Summit House, followed by a reception in the main dining room. The reception was like being at an upscale ski lodge, with a rustic setting combined with refined accents and a menu featuring local and seasonal ingredients. Guests danced the night away under the heavy wood beams, and the festivities ended with a raucous dance party.

The logistics of getting vendors and guests up to the mountain were tricky, but Erin and Peter (and our team) were up for the challenge. We worked with the Crystal Mountain wedding team to coordinate transportation and catering. In the end, it was all worth it for the breathtaking views and the unique experience that their guests had.

The color palette for the affair was white, black, and green, which perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. We adorned the tables with white flowers, greenery, and enclosed black taper candles. The glow of candlelight created a romantic and inviting atmosphere and was also a great way to bring the outdoors in.

Overall, Erin and Peter’s Crystal Mountain wedding was a fun and unforgettable experience for everyone involved. We loved combining the “best of both worlds”  to create something truly reflective of who they are.

The amazingly emotive photos by James Moes capture the day so well.
