Despite the pandemic, Nicole and Ben had their Fairmont Olympic wedding, and no one’s spirits were dampened! I helped plan this wedding for months. We pushed through uncertainty to ensure N & B had the celebration they always dreamed of—safely. Creating the perfect backdrop for ceremony and dance.
A Fairmont Olympic Wedding
The Garden Room at the Fairmont Olympic is the perfect setting for an upscale, sexy, wedding dance party, and if you’ve never been to a Fairmont Olympic wedding, you are missing out! Their ceremony spaces and the Garden Room are airy, refined, and flooded with amazing natural light.
To complement the beauty of the room, we combined the crispness of the white and green floral color palette with the sophisticated feel of a black and gold tabletop. In doing so, we landed on a modern but timeless feel that will remain for years to come. Nicole and Ben wanted this day to feel “grown and sexy,” and we achieved that with the combination of hearty greens, pops of white on the black velvet tablecloths, and flits of gold.
Fairmont Olympic Wedding Ceremony
Nicole and Ben chose to have their ceremony in front of the grand windows at the front of the Garden Room, where they exchanged their vows in front of a circular arch tastefully adorned with greenery and white roses. Not only did it give them a beautiful focal point, it made sure the architecture of the room shone.
We HAVE to talk about the oversized greenery chandelier. What a statement piece! Even more important, brought the feeling of nature into a contemporary space and also acted as the perfect anchor above the dance floor.
Their photographer, Laurken Kendall, is one of my favorites to work with. Why? Well, because she is incredible at matching the energy of the moment and couples that she works with. Larkin’s photos are so candid and documentary, that it feels like we are tresspassing on them. Additionally, Larkin is great at capturing the personality and emotion of the day and she also bottles it up in a non-conforming way. She even took them on a walk around the city and captured some truly special moments.
The Fairmont Olympic staff went above and beyond making sure that Nicole and Ben’s wedding was perfect. The food was delicious, the drinks were flowing, and the service was impeccable (as always).
It was an unforgettable day that Nicole and Ben will cherish forever. It felt so unequivocally like who they are on a day that should be all about them.
